A celebration of an extraordinary life. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Bishop Nathaniel Wyoming Wells Jr., will be remembered during services at Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ. While Bishop Wells’ passing comes at a time when we are required to adhere to social distancing restrictions aimed at stopping the spread of the coronavirus, the Bishop’s family would like to give the community an opportunity to pay their respects to a man who has touched thousands of lives, in ways both profound and blessedly ordinary. 

Under government restrictions, we will be allowed to hold the following services:

Public Viewing at Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ

2140 Valley St, Muskegon, MI 49444

1pm-5pm ET

The community is invited to pay respects to Bishop Wells, in his full vestments, in a solemn and celebratory procession past the casket. In an effort to adhere to social distancing guidelines, the public is asked to be mindful of the guidance offered by ushers.

Private Viewing and Service for Immediate Family

Later this year when, God willing, the virus has passed, the family will invite the community to come together for a more fitting Home Going. In those services, Bishop Nathaniel Wyoming Wells Jr. will be honored by his home church. There will also be a state-wide celebration, honoring the Bishop’s contributions as Prelate of the Western Michigan Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ. Additionally, the Bishop will be honored by the national church, for his long and dedicated service as a distinguished member of the General Board, the governing body of the Church of God in Christ.

 For now, we celebrate the life of a revered Bishop and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather in the ways that we can. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
