Ms Annie Lee Gaines was born to the late Lee and Elnora Gaines, on September 21, 1945 in Ogden, Arkansas. After relocating to Muskegon with her family, she attended and graduated from Muskegon Heights Public School system. She also attended Muskegon Community and Muskegon Business College which is now Baker College.
Annie worked at Lorin Industries, Muskegon CAAP (as secretary for Donald Cole), and the City of Muskegon Heights, (for chief of police Thompson and Captain Willie (Buster) Howell),
She was a quiet spirit, loving, and a very giving person. Annie was very talented, and could decorate, organize, and was very meticulous. Faye would call her “Ms. Betty Crocker” I called her “Suh.” Annie was an anointed poem writer, she had become known as “poem lady.” Annie like all music! She loved to listen to jazz, as well as gospel music. She loved singing and sang in a group, The Spiritual Inspirations, founded and managed by the late Rev Willie F. Wilson. You would have thought she had a career as a sports commentator, she liked sports, and football and basketball, (sports commentator Stephen Smith had nothing on her), she loved. In her younger years she played tennis. She was a movie buff and could tell you what movies to watch.
Annie grew up in Mt Herman Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastors Rev T.F Culp and Rev David McIntosh. She, became a member of Holy Trinity Institution Church of God in Christ in 2000, under the leadership of Bishop Nathaniel Wells, jr and Elder Nathaniel Wells III, and was a faithful member until her health begin to fail. Annie also found her love for her heavenly father Yahuah (Yah) and her Messiah and Savior Yahusha.
Annie went from labor to reward April 21, 2025 at Heartwood Lodge. Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter Jacqueline A Gaines, Sacramento, CA devoted son, Andrew D.
