Our Beloved Mother Argie Nell Holliman have received her wings. She is preceded in death by her Loving husband James Chibuzo, Grand-parents Will Duncan, and Bessie Mae Panel (MS) Father, Noah Willis Moore, Mother Mattie Mae Holliman, Adopted Father John Thomas Holliman, Son C.J., Her Sweet Sister Debra Mae Holliman, Uncle Ulysses Duncan, Grand-Daughters Savannah Hines, Crystal Hines, Special Aunt, LuNell Atlas. All whom she truly loved.
We will miss Argie immensely, and everyday. Argie enjoyed going to church, having her Birthday Celebrations with son, DJBryant Blaze, Family, and the entire Community. The Late Dr. Paul Hubbard, Jr. Minister of Southeast Church of Christ would preach Good Messages every year. Bro Norvie Cottingham preached at her final Birthday Celebration in 2024.
Argie would sit outside in her Eggchair in the backyard of her house, for hours, while listening to Bebe and CeCe Winans, Mahalia Jackson, ACAPELLA, Stevie Wonder, MAZE featuring Frankie Beverly, USHER, and SADE. She also enjoyed running in Marathons for Charity, watching Bridal Dress shows, Say YES to the Dress, Cooking Delicious dinners, decorating her house for Christmas, and spending time with all her Bay Bay Chops (Children). She had so much fun playing at the "Good Willy," (Goodwill) with her Daughter, and Evergreen Neighbors. It was a simple break from the toll of weekly dialysis...(Donuts Yuck!) Argie especially liked Stevie Wonder, "Isn't She Lovely!" She had an opportunity to see him LIVE in concert at the Van Andel Arena in 2024. Argie leaves to cherish three Children. Daughter Steffani Renee Hines (Chris) and Christopher Hines, Jr., Son Stephen Bryant, Jr. (Mary), Son Shawn Duane Bryant. She also leaves behind her Grand-Children, Symphanie S. Bolds, Joslynne B. Bolds, Carl B. Bolds, and their Father Carlos L. Bolds (IN) Grandsons Steve B. Bryant, and Seth Bryant. She leaves behind a Great Grand-Daughter Samantha Wilbern of Indianapolis, and a host of Family and Friends. Thanks Montell Caregivers, Doug Styles Roland, Davita Dialysis, and Health Bridge.
Thanks Mary Stewart and Cathy Mason for being good Friends and Neighbors. Argie loved her close cousin Floyd Mathis, and taking trips with the family to Amusement Parks, and Chicago. During Argie's illness, Argie found writing to ease her pain. She was in the process of publishing a historical book entitled, "Aunt Macy's front porch, and a Christian Children's Book, "Fruits of the Spirit." A book dedicated to her Sister Debbie, with Down Syndrome. Argie Nell Holliman was the Executive Producer, and Talk Show Host of Television show Time To Talk for 35 years on GRTV Cable Channel 25. The show aired in Grand Rapids, Byron Center, and Wyoming. Every Wednesday many callers would light up the phone lines, and call-in by telephone, chatting with the friendly Talk Show host about many interesting topics. Including health, Multi-Cultural Diversity, Education, Community Volunteers Annual Birthday Bash, and Gospel Acapella 911. ACAPELLA is a main event of Gospel Groups singing with only their voices and no instruments. Argie felt in her heart that it was necessary to never forget what happened on that tragic day in history. Remembering Fallen First Responders, and Civilians of 911. Argie Holliman's shows are available today on YOUTUBE.COM for viewers globally to still gain a wealth of information, and knowledge. Argie worked at the YWCA as a Crisis Counselor. She would listen to her clients, and help them navigate resources as early as 4AM, Argie showed compassion for 30 years. When her Mother Mattie Mae Holliman passed away in 2001, Argie suddenly became ill with kidney failure, and endured dialysis Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. However, she continued serving the Community as the President of Community Volunteers West Michigan. Argie's organization ran a food pantry, hosted a Neighborhood Garden with Beautiful flowers, and distributed free lunch in the Summer. Community Volunteers provided Holiday baskets, blankets, coats, toys, and cleaning supplies. Community Volunteers served as an Educational, and Referral Non-profit Organization. Argie was a Graduate of Grand Valley State University. Earning a Master's degree in Broadcasting and Journalism. She earned a Certificate from Jordan College in Creative Writing and Business. Argie took enrichment courses through Grand Rapids Community College. Argie worked as a Radio Announcer/Disc Jockey and Saleswoman for WKWM.
Which was the First Black Radio Station in Grand Rapids. Argie hosted Metro Beat, A LIVE Mid-day Program, sharing with Radio listeners, Encouraging them to strive to help humanity, and show kindness to all people. Argie has received numerous awards, including Giants Award, Urban League, YWCA Women's Tribute, GRTV award for Outstanding TV Show, Community Volunteers Award for Community Engagement. Argie gave her life to the Lord at an early age, and was baptized at the age of five at Church of Christ on Franklin Street. She was a Faithful member of Church of Christ 1915 Nelson Ave. Grand Rapids. MI 49507, and sat under the late Dr. Paul Hubbard, Jr.
Argie loved bible class, and would tell her children, "Time for Bible!" Argie would write Bible plays, loved supporting the Youth, and truly loved to hear the Brothers and Congregation sing Hymns at church, read scriptures, and prayers. Argie wanted her Life to be pleasing to God. Farewell until we meet again, Mommy, Mock Mock, and Nurse, we love you harder than a Rock! True, are hearts are broken and we're sad. But we're also grateful that you are free from this world. Now you are Enjoying your Mansion, Robe, and Crown with the Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.
