Bobby Ray Calvin Sr., born in Shreveport Louisiana, lived a bold and unforgettable life—a life shaped by grit, laughter, adventure, and deep love for his family. As a young man, Bobby was no angel—and he’d be the first to tell you that. He loved to share stories of the wild things he got into in his youth, always with a grin and a twinkle in his eye. One of his favorite tales was about the time he hitchhiked all the way to California with a friend to visit his father—just two young men chasing the horizon and making memories that would last a lifetime.
Later, Bobby found his calling on the open road, driving semi-trucks across the country. The highway was his second home, but his true joy was always found outdoors—camping beneath the stars, fishing at daybreak, hunting in the stillness of the woods, and grilling with his family around him. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures and a quiet love for the timeless stories told in his favorite Westerns.
He was preceded in death by Dominique. He is survived by his daughters Heather, Kizzie, Joanna, and Candace, and his sons Bobby Jr. and Curtis. His legacy lives on through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his strong, stubborn, and loving spirit.
Bobby Ray Calvin Sr. was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. He was a man of stories, strength, and heart—never perfect, but always real. Though he’s gone, the echoes of his laughter, the warmth of his fire, and the mark he left on his family will live on for generations.
