In Loving Memory of Deborah Mathis
November 14th, 1958 – May 16th, 2025
Debbie Mathis (formally known as Mosley), 66, was born on November 14th, 1958 in Hughes, Arkansas. The Mosley family later relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she later resided the rest of her life.
Debbie lived a life grounded in faith, family, and peace. She was known for her kind heart, her humorous nature, her love for the T.V. show The Beverly Hillbilly’s, her spunky attitude, but most importantly, her fighting spirit. Debbie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in her life and this became the foundation for how she lived. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends.
Debbie Mathis departed this life in peace on Friday, May 16th, 2025. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Rufus and Willie Mosley. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son and daughter Kristofer and Kandyce Mathis and her daughter-in-law, Chawntrell Mathis. She also leaves her three sisters, Linda Guyton, Brenda Mosley, and Stephanie Deeble; her two brothers Rufus “Ray” Mosley Jr., Shawn Mosley, and seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025. Family hour is at 11:00am. and the funeral begins at 12:00pm. at
Grand Rapids Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 1024 Adams St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507. Friends and family are invited to attend.
