Delores Janice Tyson

Delores Tyson, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2021. Born to William Burley and Inell McKinney on June 24, 1948 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Delores embodied 1 Corinthians 13 showing unconditional love to everyone she knew. The joy of the Lord and her love for Christ shone through her beautiful smile, kind and gentle spirit, and her graciousness towards others, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege to meet her. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William B. and Inell McKinney; her sister, Volia McKinney; and her sons, Eric Tyson and Cecil Jerold Anthony Tyson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Cecil Jerold Tyson; her two beautiful daughters, Katherine [Lynelle] Tyson and Courtney Tyson; her two extraordinary grandchildren, Rachelle Gessleman and Nicholas Smith; her six brothers, Judge [J.T.] McKinney, Elzie (Beverly) McKinney, Wendel (Diane) McKinney, John Anthony [Tony] McKinney, Timothy (Towana) McKinney, and Shawn (Serita) McKinney; four sisters, Ealry Lyons, Joyce Johnson, Mary (James) Lyons, and Helen Harp and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. A private home going celebration will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, by Toombs by Crystal Funeral Services (616) 813-8351 with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI.
