Edgar Darnell Hudgins at the age of 61, transitioned from this world on January 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by his immediate family.
He was born on June 25, 1962, in Columbus, Mississippi to the late James Johnson and Ollie Mae Williams. He later moved to Muskegon, MI where he was raised by Mother Ollie Mae Williams and stepfather Elton Williams. He received his education in Muskegon Public Schools and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1981.
Edgar accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend James E. Witcher. He later became a member of Love Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan Phillips. Edgar recently rededicated his life back to the Lord.
Edgar was employed with Norton Fiber, Holland, MI until his health failed. He enjoyed fixing cars, during contracting work on houses, hanging out with his friends, riding around town (ON EMPTY), spending time with his kids and his mother. Earlier in life he loved to travel, and he also loved to cook (making up his own recipes).
Edgar leaves to cherish his memories; mother: Ollie Williams; stepfather: Elton Williams; sons: Deitrick (NaJeam) Hudgins, Derius Rankin, Cornelius Ivy Jr.; daughters: Carmella Gill, Carest Cooper, Tamra Ivy, and Latosha Hudgins; former wife: Cherie Hudgins; 18 grandchildren; brothers: Elton (Letisha) Williams Jr., Antonio(Sharrona)Williams, James Johnson Jr., Julius Johnson, Andre(Vanessa)Williams, Carlton Williams; sisters: Angie(Barry) Hall, Carla(Floyd) Riley, Joezette(Bradley)Sherrod, Angela Tatum, Ada Williams, Macie Hawkins, Elisia(Jeffery) Hardiman, Jessie Austin, Ellanida Williams, Elexis Williams, and Dorcey Williams; best friend: Troy Tyler; special uncle: Troy Johnson; special aunts: Fannie Williams and Irene Green; special nephew: Liam Johnson, a host of uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, additional family and friends.
Edgar was preceded in death by his biological father James Johnson; brother: Damion Williams; significant other: Vicky Oliver and his grandparents.
