Born August 14, 1966, in Grand Rapids, MI to Linda Warren and the late James Warren, James Tracy Warren, gave his life to Christ at the late age of 56 at the University of Michigan Hospital, under the leadership of Chaplain/Minister Duane Warren. James graduated from Central High School and attended Aquinas College, where he played basketball - a game he loved dearly.
James grew up on the southside of Grand Rapids where he worked a variety of jobs, such as, MI Turkey, Meijer Corporation and SP Plus (Ford International Airport).
James met the love of his life Latonya Warren in 2015. They reunited in 2020 and were married on July 16, 2021. They became a blended family full of love. James loved being a father, watching sports, family gatherings and helping his mother, whom he loved dearly.
James was preceded in death by his father James Warren, his maternal grandmother Pearlie Mae Jenkins, his aunt Lorraine Blakely and three cousins Anthony Jenkins, Larry (Porky) Woods, Jr., and Kirk Blakely.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife Latonya Warren; his mother Linda Warren; three daughters, Mignon and Jayla Warren, Rodrecka Smith; two sons, Greg Warren and Rodereck Smith; three grandchildren, Aiden Montgomery, Avayah Smith and Sekani Smith; two sisters, Theresa (Lee) White and Shawna Warren; two brothers, Eric Warren and Mustafa A. As-Salam; three stepsisters; Glenda, Monica and Felicia Carter; God Kids, KJ Taylor and Chana Wilkins; God Mom Gail, God Sister Tiesha, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
