Kattie Mae Robertson peacefully transitioned from this life to be with the Lord on December 23, 2025, at her home.
Kattie Mae Russell was born on September 17, 1948, in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, to the union of Roy and Ethel Marie Russell. She was born and raised in Muskegon and attended the Muskegon Heights Public Schools.
In 1967, Kattie began her working career as a cook at the Muskegon Country Club. In 1972, she gained employment at Muskegon Paper Box, where she worked faithfully until the company closed in 1980.
She later continued her career at Acemco in general labor, remaining there until her retirement in 2011.
Kattie found joy in life's simple pleasures—watching true-life movies, bowling, playing spades, dominoes, and listening to the blues. Above all, her greatest joy was loving others through her cooking. Whether preparing a simple meal or hosting a family gathering, Kattie poured her heart into every dish, welcoming everyone with warmth, comfort, and a love that made you feel right at home.
Kattie's loving memories will forever be cherished by her daughters, Robin L. Russell and Danielle (Rowland) Sharp; her grandchildren, Jeridan L. LaGrone and Jada M. Roberts; her siblings, Roy Russell Jr., Patricia Durgin, Cleveland Russell, Debra (Carlice) Moffett, and Sheree Russell; a host of nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Esther Gooden, Doris Clayborne, and Marge Alex.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JC Robertson; her sisters, Shirley A. Wallace and Joyce Russell Carnegie; and her brother, Roosevelt Russell.
