Landon Malik Chambers was born on January 17, 1997, at Corewell Health Hospital, formerly known as Butterworth, to Maurine Franklin-Nelson and Desmond E. Chambers. He was the fourth of six children and also shared a close bond with two step-siblings. From the beginning, Landon was a bright light in his family—a beautiful soul full of energy, potential, and heart.
He grew up in the Kentwood and Grand Rapids public school systems and graduated from Lighthouse Public School. After high school, Landon began his career in sales before later moving on to factory work, but it was retail sales where his professional skills truly shined.
Landon’s natural charm, kind heart, and radiant smile made him unforgettable to anyone he met. With his shining white smile and a sense of style that turned heads, Landon had a way of lighting up every room he entered.
Landon’s love for his family was unmatched. He shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings—even when he got on their nerves, as siblings do. Nevertheless, he was their protector, the one who always checked in, and the one who never let a little distance weaken the ties of love and loyalty. He loved to laugh, to joke, to play—and his playful spirit left lasting memories with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Landon dreamed big. As a child, he gushed over the thought of being an architect and a pastor—dreams that spoke to both his creativity and his deep-rooted faith. Landon was a man who loved God, who loved to worship, and who carried with him a spiritual warmth that reflected his belief in something greater.
Later in life, Landon met the love of his life and girlfriend, Jaleeiah S. Davis. Together, they built a beautiful family, including two cherished children: Lay’Ani M. Davis and Leo’Vonni Chambers — his only son. He was a devoted father who treasured every moment with his children. Whether they were going out for fun or visiting Grandma’s house, as they often did, Landon made sure his kids knew they were loved.
Landon was preceded in death by his older brother Desmond Chambers Jr., his grandmothers Artherine Burrell and Elizabeth Trusty, and his grandfathers Floyd Franklin and Winston Chambers, along with aunts and uncles who all held special places in his heart.
He leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of those who survive him: his mother Maurine Franklin-Nelson and stepfather Anthony Nelson, his father Desmond (Dez) Chambers and stepmother Jeanette Jones Chambers, his siblings Bo Franklin, Liam Chambers, Rewlon Chambers, Jeryn Chambers, Kamania Chambers, and AaLiyah Chambers, his girlfriend Jaleeiah Davis, his precious children Lay’Ani Davis and Leo’Vonni Chambers, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and childhood friends who cherished him deeply. The Chambers family would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Leah Singleton and Jada Seymore for their unwavering support and help during this time.
Landon’s presence in our lives was a gift—one filled with joy, humor, faith, and love. He was a protector, a dreamer, a brother, a son, a father, and a friend. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made will never fade. We celebrate his life, honor his memory, and carry his spirit with us always.
The Chambers family warmly invites you to honor and celebrate Landon’s life during his viewing and reflection, which will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Toombs by Crystal Funeral Service (4257 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508).
