Mr. Linzell (Kenny) McKinnie, was born January 25, 1965 in Saginaw, MI to the late Walter McKinnie and Louvenia King. Linzell departed this life on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his home in Grand Rapids, MI. He graduated from Arthur Hill School in 1983 (Saginaw, MI). After graduating from high school Linzell joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a proud veteran and considered it a privilege and honor to have served his country. After serving his term in the Marine Corps Linzell moved to Grand Rapids, MI where he held several jobs until his death failed. Linzell enjoyed fishing, bowling, swimming, dominoes, basketball, and he had a special place in his heart for children which eh called "The Little People". He would randomly give out dollar bills to small children or surprise them with cookies or candy bars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He felt that his greatest accomplishment in life was accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Linzell fought a courageous battle with many health struggles in his final years on earth. Now, heaven has welcomed this faithful servant where there is no more death, sorrow, crying, nor pain. All these things are gone forever! So, on today, we celebrate the life of a man's man, a good man, a man who tilted the room toward him when he walked in. His tall stature and rich baritone voice commanded everyone's attention. Linzell was a man who would never back down to a good game of dominoes or spades. Linzell is a man whose life, light and legacy will forever be cherished. Left on earth to cherish his memory is his mother, Louvenia King; fraternal twin brother, Fitzgerald McKinnie (Grand Rapids, MI); sister, Diane (Joe) Flint of Chester, VA; brothers, Johnny (Donna) Isom of Columbus, VA and Glen Dell McKinnie of Atlanta, GA. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends as well as a special friend, Lauren. The McKinnie Family would like to extend special thanks to the Spectrum Health Hospice medical staff for their kind an caring hands.
