Nancy Jo'Ann (Goranson) Ward

After a long battle with cancer, Nancy JoAnn Ward of Muskegon, Michigan passed away in the arms of loving family on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020. She was born on October 30th, 1937 to Harvey and Mary Ann  (Westerman) Goranson. After attending Muskegon Public Schools, Nancy married and became a loving homemaker. Throughout her life, Nancy was a devout Christian and servant of Christ. She was an active member of Samuel Lutheran Church in Muskegon where she taught Sunday School for many years and happily served with the church’s outreach committee to deliver food, backpacks and assist with funeral luncheons. Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry, storytelling, knitting gifts for others, sharing a laugh with a loved one, and enjoying the company of her pets, family and friends. She never missed a Friday morning hair appointment or an opportunity to share a story and a smile. The kindness she displayed never wavered and her love for life was infectious. Nancy is preceded in death by her loved one Bill (William) Norris, Daughter-in-law Denise Ward, and her Grandsons Micheal Steven and Joshua Solomon Ward. She is survived by her two sisters, MaryEllen McIntrye and Jean Rackes and her five children Harvey, Lu-Ann Dean, Duane, James and Kevin, her five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
