Odette Wilks, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, entered eternal rest on June 10, 2026. Odette was born on October 27, 1945, at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, to Odis and Anna Hinton.
Her mother, Anna Hinton, passed away in 1948 while giving birth to a son, a loss at an early age that helped shape the strength, resilience, and determination that would characterize Odette throughout her life.
She was a longtime and proud member of the Wild Bunch Motorcycle Club of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Through her years with the club, she formed lasting friendships and shared a passion for fellowship, community, and the open road. Her involvement reflected her adventurous spirit, independence, and love of life.
Odette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elijah Wilks, with whom she shared ten years of marriage; her cherished daughter, Jodette Wilks; and her loving parents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Dina (Derrick Tyms) Wilks, Michael (Kassondra) Wilks, and Neil (Megan) Wilks.
She was also blessed with a beautiful legacy of 14 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Odette is survived by her oldest sister, Hattie Catron of Memphis, Tennessee, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Odette will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
