Sheldon Mack Perkins Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Sheldon Mack Perkins Jr. on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the young age of 31.  Sheldon was born on May 13, 1992, to Sheldon Sr. and Rachel Perkins, he was the oldest of 3 children. Sheldon was energetic, and outspoken, and a stubborn child.   Sheldon was a big brother to Rayshawn and Shalyssa Perkins and a grandson to Mack and Sonia Perkins (Grand Rapids, MI).  He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ike Johnson (September 25, 1954-April 6, 2018) and grandmother, Earnestine Johnson (February 1, 1955-July 12, 2020).  He will sadly be missed by his uncles and aunts, Joylanda and Macklin Perkins (Grand Rapids, MI), Hazel, and Leon Gant (Grand Rapids, MI), Franklene and Rick Baker (Richmond, VA), Dewayne Perkins (Grand Rapids, MI), Mack Jr. Perkins (Grand Rapids, MI), Terry and Lennaire Vaughn (Southbend, IN) and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church located at 510 M.L.K. Jr. St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI  49507, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11am and will be followed by the repass in the church basement.  Services entrusted to Crystal T. Hardley 616-813-8351.
