Silvester Richison Life Story

Mr. Silvester Richison was born in Greenville Mississippi January 6th 1947 to the late Eddie and Ethiel Richardson. At the age of 6 years old he was separated from his parents and brothers Abraham Richardson and the late Jerome Richardson to live with The McCall Family in Muskegon Michigan.

Under Silvester McCall he attended Freeble Elementary and Muskegon High School and Muskegon Community College as a Black Belt Karate Instructor. He was an Honors Student on the National Honors Society and belonged to various organizations in high school. But his biggest Honor was being the First African American Big Red Indian Mascot for Muskegon High School 63-64!!

He Enlisted in the US Air Force and had to leave before graduation from Muskegon High School in 1965 and recieved his Diploma sometime after. While stationed at McDill AFB, Florida he recieved Orders to Vietnam. Airman First Class Silvester Richison served from 04 March1965 to 16 January 1969 Respectively. He was Honorably Discharged due to the military finding out that unbeknownst to them...his brother Abraham was in Vietnam at the same time (which is against Military Regulations) and Abraham requested Silvester's release.

Silvester resided in Grand Rapids Michigan where he worked as a Laborer and did Volunteer work for different organizations. There he met and married his Love, Arnetta Yvonne Clark on April 24th 2004.
Silvester was reunited in 2014 with his brother Abraham after being separated for over 45 years after Vietnam.

Silvester was akso know as "Sil" and "PappaRoo". He leaves behind his loving Wife Arnetta Eyvonne Richison Hardiman, Brother Abraham (wife Azzie) Richison. His close Friend and Brother in Law David (wife Clestelle) Brooks, close Cousin Louvenia Edwards and Sister in Laws Georgette Cambell and Joanne Hurt. Six Children: Walter K Davis Richison, Tanya L Richison, Silena Aikens Wilkerson, Ghangus Goins, Mrs Antionette (husband Juan) Ware, and Silvester Richison Jr. Two Step Children Mrs Stacey (husband Donnell) Jones and William Lyle. Twenty-two Combined Grand Children and Twenty Eight Combined Great Grandchildren and a host of close Family and Friends .
He was a proud Veteran Husband Father Brother and Grandfather. Silvester will be Memorialized around close Family and Friends on Tuesday March 21, 2023 from 12-4 pm at Wellington Woods Community Room 4550 N. Breton Ct. SE Kentwood, MI 49508.

Mr. Silvester Richison, A1C, US Air Force will be laid to rest Honorably at Fort Custer Veterans National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan.
